Pond - Grass & Change in Water Level

As many of you may have noticed, pond B’s water level has dropped significantly. This is a good thing. Due to the drop in water level, the Board is exploring options to care for the area surrounding the pond. Next steps will be considered upon receipt of project proposals including the option to sow grass seed where the land had been under water.

The Board had been in contact with Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPS) about the pond using the emergency overflow as a day-to-day drain which is not what it was designed for. This was happening because years ago a tree had been planted just feet away from the main drain. A few years ago, that tree sustained damage and fell into the pond and covered the drain causing the pond level to rise and stay at the improper level for years. Now that the tree has been removed, the pond and drain will work as designed.
