Preserving Our Resident-Owner Community after the ballot

It was a pleasure to meet with neighbors and answer your questions as your volunteer board sought to preserve our community as one primarily of resident-owners as opposed to rental-units.

Tonight’s ballot counting showed the most participation in the history of Decatur Ridge.

64% of homeowners participated in the process
with an overwhelming majority supporting the addition of this leasing restriction.

Unfortunately, the Covenants designed by the Developer required 75% of lots (156 of 208) to be represented in any vote.

Final count of ballots: 8 Against and 125 In Favor ballots were submitted.

75 missed the deadline.

Thank you to everyone who participated. Please stay in touch regarding the concerns you have as we all move forward after this major effort to protect the future of our community.
